The way our mathematics are structured closely follows the LASD Schools curriculum, ensuring your child is prepared for it. The difference though, is that Kid2Kid goes much deeper than what is taught in schools. We teach tricks to be faster, as well as teaching our students to think critically about the problem. For the first year we understand that the students knowledge may have gaps so the first year we aim to catch up and fill any gaps with the following years following the curriculum.

Similar to math, our curriculum closely follows that of the schools for the same reason. Despite this, during Kid2Kid ELA sessions we focus on all aspects of ELA. We cover the writing nuances such as tone, structure, speed reading, note taking, all the things that school doesn't teach or teach well that will help your kid to excel. 

For science, Kid2Kid is extremely different from schools. The LASD School follow Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Kid2Kid follows a separate curriculum that still consists of the main concepts, and more, from NGSS. What's different is that we integrate fun hands on science experiments that allow your kid to learn and understand information better. When I was in 5th grade I had a teacher like this and the experiments helped to solidify information much better as opposed to modern teaching techniques. 

After several years of speech and debate experience I know what it takes to be good in this area. Kids taking this class will learn the basics of public speaking, build confidence, and preform several different types of speech. Debate will include public forum and parliamentary which will build both research and speaking skills to further enhance their skills in this topic.

Mentoring is something most organizations don't provide, but we know it is something that is influential in a child's upbringing. With our teachers having won many honors, we are able to understand what it takes to get into many different career paths and will work on the skills to get your child there. If your child wants to be an entrepreneur  we will teach them to write grants, build websites, handle expenses and more. Because there is only one teacher right now mentoring is limited, but in the carrear paths that we teach, the sky is the limit.
